Covid-19 UPDATE 18/03/20 8:55pm

Dear Parents,

This evening, our teachers gathered together to watch the update from the Education Secretary and the Prime Minister, as I am sure that many of you will have done.

I imagine that you have many questions, and a sense of apprehension. We do too.

We are sad that our school will not welcome all of our wonderful pupils in after Friday. We feel incredibly proud to work at Moulton, and we feel privileged to teach your children and to work alongside all of you.

Schools will be given more information tomorrow regarding specific aspects of this evening's televised update, but we do not know exactly when this will happen. Please be patient with us, whilst we read and digest the information, so that we can present you with a comprehensive and finalised set of arrangements. As ever, we will provide timely and detailed communication.

We ask that you bring your children to school tomorrow with a smile on your face and a sense of calm - we promise that we will all be smiling, and ready to welcome every pupil. Let's get the children settled into class, and then we will devise a plan. Please be assured that we will continue to laugh, be curious, to learn and to appreciate all that we have - we will absolutely not be dashing around and panicking whilst children are in school.

Schools are closing to limit exposure to potentially poorly people, sp please could you avoid huddling together in the playground when you drop off your children. We will not mark children as late if they arrive after 8:55am - we will leave the gates and register open for an extra 10 minutes to avoid congestion.

I would like to thank you all again for your support. In such sad times, I feel blessed to be surrounded by so many caring and compassionate families.

I will update you as soon as possible tomorrow. If you know of parents who do not have our app, please could you share this message with them. I feel confident that social media comments will be only positive, given the support that we all need at this time. Until tomorrow, take care of yourselves, and each other.

With warmest regards,

Mrs Shipp
