Lunchtime is an important part of the school day. Our delicious, nutritious meals are freshly prepared and offer children a balanced choice each day, helping them to stay healthy, happy and ready to learn.

Universal Infant Free School Meals

All children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 are entitled to a free school meal through the Government's Universal Infant Free School Meals scheme, regardless of family income. There is no need to complete an application form for this entitlement.

However, if you think your family may be eligible for income-related Free School Meals, we strongly encourage you to apply. Although your child will already receive free meals in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2, a successful application also provides the school with valuable Pupil Premium funding, enabling us to provide additional support, resources and opportunities for eligible pupils.

Meal Choices

Children are welcome to enjoy a school meal every day or to combine school meals with packed lunches throughout the week, depending on what works best for your family.

Our daily menu includes:

• A main meal.

• A vegetarian option.

• A jacket potato with a choice of fillings.

• A pasta option, which can be served as a 'takeaway' option in the warmer months.

If your child would like the vegetarian, jacket potato or pasta option, please make your selection online via the school website by Friday morning for the following week.

If your child is absent, you will not be charged for any pre-booked school meal. Any payment already made will remain as credit on your account.

The current cost of a school meal for children who are not entitled to free meals is £2.80.

Paying for School Meals

We encourage families to make payments online through the Arbor Parent Portal, where you can:

• View your child's dinner balance.

• Pay for school meals.

• Pay for educational visits and trips.

• View upcoming payments.

Each parent has their own secure login details for Arbor.

If you are unable to pay online, cash or cheque payments may be made in advance on Mondays. Please ensure cash is placed in a sealed envelope clearly labelled with your child's name, class and the amount enclosed.

Income-Related Free School Meals

If your child is eligible for income-related Free School Meals, they will receive school meals free of charge. In addition, the school receives Pupil Premium funding, which helps us provide extra support, enrichment opportunities and resources to help every child flourish.

Under the current Government transitional protection arrangements, children who become eligible for income-related Free School Meals remain entitled to receive them until the end of the protection period, even if family circumstances change.
