School Council
We believe that every child should have a voice and know that their ideas can make a difference. Our School Council provides pupils with meaningful opportunities to develop leadership skills, take responsibility and contribute to the continual improvement of our school.
There are regular School Council meetings, giving children the opportunity to share their ideas, celebrate successes and suggest ways to make our school even better. These discussions ensure that pupil voice is heard across the school and that every child has the opportunity to influence decisions that affect school life.
Two representatives from each class in Years 1 to 6 are elected by their peers to serve on the School Council, alongside two Year 6 secretaries. They act as ambassadors for their classes, gathering ideas and feedback before working together to discuss priorities and present them to school leaders.
Being a member of the School Council helps children develop confidence, communication, teamwork and decision-making skills while learning about democracy, active citizenship and the importance of serving others. Council members lead and support a range of initiatives throughout the year, including fundraising events, promoting charitable causes, gathering pupils' views and helping to shape improvements across the school.
Through their work, our School Council brings our core values of community, individuality and responsibility to life, ensuring that every pupil has the opportunity to lead, contribute and make a positive difference.
If your child would like to be a member of the School Council, they canominate themselves in the autumn term.
