Wow...Snow!! Real big proper snowflake snow... As the Year 1 children went off to Lackford Lakes!! But then, the sun came out & a blue sky appeared!
Well, the week, has flown again, and the children have had another jam-packed week of learning, singing, playing and listening. Next week, is our last week before the Easter break. Let's hope the weather gets a little warmer so that the children can finally relinquish their coats!
This week's collective worship focussed on deaf awareness. We learnt about the different degrees of deafness, how it might feel to be deaf or hearing impaired, and we practised signing the alphabet using British Sign Language - the children did really well! There are lots of videos on Youtube if you would like to have a go at this at home.
Year 1 Dress Up Day
Next Thursday, 7th April, Mrs Fiddes would like her Year 1 class to dress up as a bug. Maybe an ant, or a bettle, a dragonfly or even a bee!! Look out for the Bug Photos on the website next Friday.
Please remember that breakfast club begins at 7:45am. Please do not arrive earlier than this. Thanks from the breakfast club team.
Fit For Sport have not yet been able to secure enough staff to open up the after-school club. Despite having a national recruitment team; holding recruitment events here at the school; large-scale social media campaigns; liaising with colleges, and many other ways, they have been unable to recruit enough high-quality staff.
I know that is disappointing for parents - it is for us too. It appears that the hospitality and childcare industries are struggling nationally. I believe that Fit For Sport are doing all that they can to secure staff to open up as soon as possible. They are very passionate about solving this problem for us, and have managed to employ one person so far.
If it would help, we would be happy to share details of any parents who are struggling, with other parents who are struggling, so that you can put your heads together to share ideas about short-term solutions until the club is up and running.
If you know of anybody who would like tp pursue a career in childcare, please pass on these details: email@example.com 07594 510227

Fruit & Veg for Early years classes
The Government supplies fruit & veg each week for our Reception, Year 1 & Year 2 children. Sadly, this fruit is getting wasted, as the Year 1 & 2 children bring in different snacks for breaktime. Could we please ask that you refrain from sending a snack in, so that we can encourage the children to eat our supplied snack each day? Thank you
Help For Ukraine
One of our school parents, works for a local Insurance company. With her fellow workers, they are planning to virtually swim, cycle, walk or run to the city of Kyiv to raise funds for those stuck in the Ukraine at the moment. If you would like to help them reach their goal of £2000, please use the link below. Many thanks
We are having a Bag2school collection here on Thursday 28th April. Please bring your bag to school and leave it in the main car park. Do not bring your bag before the 28th as we do not have space to store it here. The area to leave it in, will be marked by the red & white tape. Please leave your bag by 9am. Many thanks
Taking Holidays during the school term
Mrs Shipp has been very understanding over the past 18 months or so, with regard to families who have been unable to have any holiday due to the Covid pandemic. We have issued very few penalty notices as part of each time away has been authorised.
From September 2022, holidays taken outside the normal 13 weeks given, will not be authorised. Mrs Shipp will assess each request individually, if there is a specific reason for the holiday or a letter is received from employers giving full details why the holiday is needed, she might be able to authorise some/part of the time away. Some families are taking term time holidays every year, this will not be authorised. Please try to refrain from booking holidays during term time. Thank you
Today, a lovely bright orange dinner debt letter will be coming home, for those who have a debt for school dinners. Could we please ask that you keep on top of your dinner payments for your children? Please try to pay for the dinners at the beginning of the week, so that your account does not build up too high. Please click below to go to the Suffolk County Council website to pay for school dinners. Thank you
Please can we ask that you pay your Breakfast club in advance, each week? Some of these debts are quite large, please pay your invoice as you receive it. Thank you
