In our collective worship this week, we looked at the bible story of David and Goliath. There is a mark on our hall wall showing how tall Goliath was. We talked about the Goliath moments in our life, and how it was natural to feel frightened.
Pupils have enjoyed more trips and visitors this week: our Reception children went to Hunstanton, and our Y1, Y2, and Y6 children had a hands-on science workshop. Mrs Manning has been very busy this year organising and overseeing all trips, and Mrs Dutton has been keeping an eye on the budget to ensure that we can afford them all, as well as booking coaches - thank you to both ladies for helping our curriculum to be so exciting. Y1 are off to Mountfitchet castle, and Y2 are off to Harwich next week.
Hopefully you will have had chance to read the letter about Sports Day. I would really appreciate it if all parents could read the letter - there are many logistical and safeguarding considerations.
I hope that you all have a lovely weekend. I am off to see mum in Leicestershire, so I am sure that I will enjoy the Midlands' clouds and rain! Fingers crossed for sunshine in Suffolk!
The children have been working hard in school, take a peek to see what they've been up to...
Today, our Reception class went off to Hunstanton for their first school trip. Sadly, the bus arrived late, as it should have been here before 8.30am. We would like to thank you for your patience. We know the bus was parked awkwardly, and obviously held some parents up from exiting the car park. Thank you for waiting and allowing the children and adults to alight the bus safely.
Sports Day Refreshments
On Sports day, 7th July, the kitchen ladies will be offering refreshments from the wooden pergola on the playground. Tea, Coffee, Cold Drinks & Traybakes will be available from 8.30am until 2pm. All items will be 50p each. Thank you.
For one of the stalls for the summer fair, we would like your preloved, but looked after books! Any type of book, cook books, crime thrillers, sleepy stories, action & adventure novels. If you have loved reading them, but now need to find a new home for them, please drop them in to the school office.
Moulton Pre School Open Event
The village pre school is having an open afternoon on the 13th July, in the village hall. The event will run from 2.30 until 4pm. If you have a child who is due to start pre school soon, why not pop along and meet the team?
Hands On Science workshops
The Year1,2 & 6 children had workshops in school this week. They learnt about things that float, how to recycle household items and how each finger has its own unique pattern. Check out the website for more photos.
Could we please ask that you keep on top of your dinner payments for your children? Please try to pay for the dinners at the beginning of the week, so that your account does not build up too high. Please click below to go to the Suffolk County Council website to pay for school dinners. Thank you
Please can we ask that you pay your Breakfast club in advance, each week? Some of these debts are quite large, please pay your invoice as you receive it. Thank you
We are noticing that the children's collections of keyrings on their book bags, are growing!! Can we please ask that you limit your child's keyring in school, to just ONE? And not a huge one, just a small one that will help your child identify their book bag at the end of the day. Thank you
Some Lunchtime Toys
Our lunchtime team would be very grateful if you have any of the following items at home, not being used any more:
Dolls & dolls clothes
Toy cars & garages
The children love to play with their friends at lunchtime, they also like to dress up a doll, or zoom a car around the playground, into a play garage. The items we need should be plastic, if possible and need to be waterproof as they may get left outside. We do not need prams or buggies, or garages that are enormous, or enormous ride on cars! Many thanks
Year 5 & 6 PE Fun Day 20th June
The year 5 & 6 children had a brilliant day on Monday! They climbed, made friends with some stunning birds of prey, found items using a compass, made some amazing catapults & shot some arrows at the bullseye, almost hitting it on a few occasions! There are loads of photos on the website, do have a look!
2nd Choice Dinners Sign Up
Please do remember to have a look at the 2nd choice dinners over the weekend. Our kitchen ladies are trying out new & different menus, along with the classics that the children love.
We do only check this section of the website once a week, on a Monday morning, so please do make sure you have signed your child up by Sunday night. You can also go to the link quickly on the school app.
The children can participate in a total non uniform day for a "bottle" for the summer fair Bottle Tombola stall. The bottle can be anything at all, fizzy water, Shloer, Wine, Beer, Shampoo, Ketchup.. Anything you have at home, as long as it is unopened & in date. Please bring the bottles in on the day, to the school office. Thank you.
