Thank you so much for all of your bottle donations - much appreciated. We are looking forward to the summer fair and to sports day. If you have not already read the information letter about sports day, please take a look - there is a lot of important safety and logistical information to consider.
I would like to say how proud I feel of Miss Spinks, who is now a published author! Miss Spinks enjoys writing in her spare time, and she has written her first novel. Well done to Miss Spinks!
I am also proud to be able to say that one of our Year 5 children nominated Miss Rutter to appear as 'Teacher Of The Month' of The Week, Junior magazine and she won! Thank you for the nomination, and well done to Miss Rutter!
As the end of term is approaching, we are seeing some very tired children. Some children have suffered with a horrid tummy bug in the last few weeks - keep an eye out for this. Children are saying they feel 'off' for a day or so, and then the sickness sets in.
On Monday 11th, the children will visit their new class, and spend time with their new teachers and TAs. Our Year 3 teacher will be Miss Murphy from September, whilst Mrs Harper is on maternity leave. Miss Murphy is in the final stages of obtaining her teaching qualification.
Another reminder... please do not park on the road, and please do not arrive early for pick-up at the end of the day. Some parents are regularly ignoring this request, and it is causing congestion.
We have just about finished writing the end-of-year reports. I have enjoyed reading them all, and we are looking forward to sharing them with you soon. More details to follow.
I hope that you have a lovely weekend!
The children have been working hard in school, take a peek to see what they've been up to...
Next Monday, our year 2 children will be off to Harwich for the day. Could we please warn you, the coach will be outside school at around 8.30am, hoping for a prompt departure at 8.45am. Please bear with the teachers and TA's if they are trying to get the children onto the coach and are possibly blocking the road. We do try not to have trips leaving at peak times, but sadly, sometimes it is unavoidable.
Sports Day Refreshments
On Sports day, 7th July, the kitchen ladies will be offering refreshments from the wooden pergola on the playground. Tea, Coffee, Cold Drinks & Traybakes will be available from 8.30am until 2pm. All items will be 50p each. Thank you.
For one of the stalls for the summer fair, we would like your preloved, but looked after books! Any type of book, cook books, crime thrillers, sleepy stories, action & adventure novels. If you have loved reading them, but now need to find a new home for them, please drop them in to the school office.
PTA Raffle Tickets
Your children will be bringing some raffle tickets home tonight. There are lots of amazing prizes to be won, do have a look on the tickets. We have spare books in the office, if you need some more. Thank you

Oven Chips & A Salad Bag
Chocolate Chip Cookie & Carton of Juice
All of the children will be able to have their hot lunch on the field with their parents or carers. We hope the children enjoy their lunch on Sports Day
Mountfitchet Castle Year 1
The year 1 children had a brilliant day at the Castle. Why not have look on the website, to see what they got up to?
Could we please ask that you keep on top of your dinner payments for your children? Please try to pay for the dinners at the beginning of the week, so that your account does not build up too high. Please click below to go to the Suffolk County Council website to pay for school dinners. Thank you
Please can we ask that you pay your Breakfast club in advance, each week? Some of these debts are quite large, please pay your invoice as you receive it. Thank you
2nd Choice Dinners Sign Up
Please do remember to have a look at the 2nd choice dinners over the weekend. Our kitchen ladies are trying out new & different menus, along with the classics that the children love.
We do only check this section of the website once a week, on a Monday morning, so please do make sure you have signed your child up by Sunday night. You can also go to the link quickly on the school app.
