Message from Mrs Shipp and Miss Rutter (who is still 'Teacher of the Week' for 37 more minutes)
Sports Day is one of my favourite days of the year (once all the planning, organisation and preparation is done!) You see such a different side to the children. One of the best bits about sitting at the scoring table all day is that I get to see the look on the children's faces as they cross the line and talk to them straight after they've raced when they are all excited.
It was wonderful to have parents here with us to enjoy the day this year. I was so impressed with the children's resilience, determination, sportsmanship and behaviour.
I'd like to say a big 'thank you' to the sports leaders from Y5/6 who helped run the KS1 events in the morning. They were so brilliant!
Lastly - a big well done to Discovery! I look forward to putting the blue ribbons on the trophy (once we've located it)
I will echo what Miss Rutter has said about sports day. It was a fabulous day, and all the better for parents being able to attend. Thank you to everyone who attended and supported us. Without wanting to come across as headmistressy, I would also like to say how grateful the staff were for the excellent parent behaviour! We felt that families were really aware of our safeguarding procedures, and adhered to our requests. Thank you - it made a potentially stressful day run smoothly.
On to the summer fair... wow! it was a super event, and I would like to say thank you to the PTA members who did such a good job of putting it all together, and thank you to parents who manned the stalls. Everyone was so generous with their time and money, and I am sure that a large sum will have been raised for our school.
The summer fair was Laura's and Vicky's last event as leaders - they have worked incredibly hard for several years, and it is time to had over the reins to someone else. If you would like to lead the PTA, please get in touch. Laura and Vicky are happy to support the new leaders, and of course, Mrs Manning is always on hand to help too!
School uniform next year:
From September, we will permit children to wear plain black trainers as part of their uniform. This will hopefully support families financially - a pair of black leather shoes can cost up to £50. If your child has plain black trainers, they can wear them for PE too, so only one pair of shoes will need to be purchased. Please ensure that trainers are plain black, and suitable for all-day wear, and PE. If you would prefer your child to continue to wear traditional black leather school shoes, that is fine.
The children have been working hard in school, take a peek to see what they've been up to...

Year 2 enjoyed an amazing day in Harwich on Monday. We visited one of the busiest working Lifeboat Stations in the country and were able to see the different lifeboats they have as well as seeing some container ships moving around in the port. We ended the day with a beachcomb and brought back lots of interesting items.
Could we please ask that you keep on top of your dinner payments for your children? Please try to pay for the dinners at the beginning of the week, so that your account does not build up too high. Please click below to go to the Suffolk County Council website to pay for school dinners. Thank you
Please can we ask that you pay your Breakfast club in advance, each week? Some of these debts are quite large, please pay your invoice as you receive it. Thank you

Please do remember to have a look at the 2nd choice dinners over the weekend. Our kitchen ladies are trying out new & different menus, along with the classics that the children love.
We do only check this section of the website once a week, on a Monday morning, so please do make sure you have signed your child up by Sunday night. You can also go to the link quickly on the school app.
