Independence and resilience Survey

We aim for our pupils to become independent and resilient learners. It would be helpful if you could share your thoughts about your child's strengths and areas for development.

We use the term 'being independent' as a child who is usually able to solve problems for themselves; organise themselves and their belongings; use their intuition; and not to seek adult help too quickly, as appropriate for their age.

We use the term as 'being resilient' to describe children who are usually able to manage knock-backs, failure, and things not going to plan, and to keep going when things are tricky or a solution is not immediately obvious.

Thank you for your time.

If we were to share guidance about suggested independent skills for each year group, would this help to develop your child's independence skills?*
