Amplitude in Year 4
On Tuesday, we decided to repeat an amplitude experiment outside to minimise noise pollution and get better results. We used drums instead of voices as the sound source and explored how distance from the drum making the sound affected how many decibels registered on our iPad recording software. In addition, we evaluated how fair our repeat experiment was and use augmented reality measuring tools to measure distance from the drum. All in all, it was a fantastic afternoon with lots of scientific thinking, great teamwork and maybe some loud noises!
