Moulton CEVC Primary School

Public Sector Equality Duty

Equality Information and Objectives

At Moulton CEVC Primary School, we believe that every person is uniquely created, deeply valued and deserving of every opportunity to flourish. Guided by our Christian vision, "You shall love your neighbour as yourself" (Matthew 22:39), we are committed to ensuring that every child and adult is treated with dignity, kindness, fairness and respect.

We celebrate the diversity of our school community and recognise that every individual brings unique strengths, experiences and perspectives. We are committed to removing barriers to learning and participation so that all members of our community, regardless of their background or circumstances, can achieve their full potential and feel a genuine sense of belonging.

The Public Sector Equality Duty (PSED), introduced through the Equality Act 2010, requires schools to eliminate unlawful discrimination, advance equality of opportunity and foster good relations between people who share protected characteristics and those who do not. These principles are not simply statutory responsibilities; they are central to our Christian ethos and underpin the decisions we make each day.

How we promote equality at Moulton CEVC

We strive to ensure that equality is embedded in every aspect of school life. This includes:

  • Maintaining an inclusive culture where every child is known, valued and supported to flourish.

  • Providing high-quality teaching and carefully tailored support to meet the needs of individual pupils.

  • Making reasonable adjustments so that pupils, staff and visitors can fully access school life.

  • Promoting respect, kindness and understanding through our curriculum, collective worship and daily interactions.

  • Providing a rich range of experiences and resources that broaden children's understanding of different cultures, faiths, backgrounds and perspectives.

  • Encouraging every child to participate fully in school life, including leadership opportunities, clubs, educational visits and enrichment activities.

  • Monitoring pupil achievement, attendance, participation and wellbeing so that we can identify and address any barriers to success.

  • Ensuring that our recruitment, employment practices and professional development opportunities are fair, transparent and free from discrimination.

  • Responding promptly and robustly to any incidents of prejudice, discrimination or bullying.

  • Working in partnership with families, governors and the wider community to promote inclusion and equality of opportunity for everyone.

We continually reflect on our practice to ensure that equality is not simply a legal requirement but a lived experience for every member of our school community. By listening carefully, using evidence to inform our decisions and embracing continuous improvement, we strive to create an environment where everyone feels welcomed, respected, included and able to flourish.

Our Equality Information and Equality Objectives, which are reviewed regularly, demonstrate how we meet our responsibilities under the Equality Act 2010 and our ongoing commitment to providing an inclusive education for all.

Equality Objectives 2026–2027

Our Equality Objectives for 2026–2027 reflect our commitment to ensuring that every member of our school community feels valued, included and able to flourish. They have been carefully chosen to support our Christian vision, respond to the needs of our pupils and community, and promote equality of opportunity for all.

More detailed information about each objective, including the actions we will take to achieve them, can be found in our Equality and Diversity Policy, available on our Policies page.
