Moulton CEVC Primary School

Uniform

We believe that school uniform helps to create a strong sense of belonging and community. Wearing our uniform encourages children to take pride in themselves and in their school, while ensuring that everyone feels included and ready to learn. We ask all families to support us by ensuring that children arrive at school wearing the correct uniform and that all clothing is clearly named.

Everyday Uniform

Children may wear:

  • Grey or black skirt, pinafore dress, tailored trousers, tailored shorts or culottes, or a red gingham dress in the summer. (Leggings are not part of the school uniform.)

  • White polo shirt or white shirt / blouse. Branded polo shirts are available from our uniform supplier, although plain white polo shirts are perfectly acceptable and are worn by most of our pupils.

  • A Moulton CEVC school cardigan or jumper, or a plain claret cardigan or jumper.

  • Black school shoes or plain black trainers.

Children may also wear:

  • One pair of small stud earrings (hoops and dangling earrings are not permitted).

  • A necklace of religious significance, such as a small crucifix (long chains should not be worn).

  • A wristwatch that does not have internet access, messaging facilities or the ability to take photographs.

PE Kit

Children should have their PE kit in school every day.

The PE kit consists of:

  • Moulton blue PE T-shirt or a plain blue T-shirt

  • Plain navy or black shorts which come to at least mid-thigh

  • Plimsolls or trainers.

For outdoor PE, we recommend:

  • A plain navy or black hoodie or zipped sweatshirt.

  • Plain navy or black jogging bottoms or leggings.

For health and safety reasons:

  • All PE kit must be clearly named.

  • Jewellery must be removed before PE.

  • Earrings that cannot be removed must be taped over (parents/carers should provide the tape).

  • Long hair should be tied back.

Purchasing Uniform

Branded uniform is available to order online through our approved supplier, Gooddies. Families may choose to purchase branded items or combine them with plain alternatives where appropriate, helping to keep school uniform affordable for everyone.

Some school-branded items, including PE bags, book bags, hats and water bottles, are available to purchase from the school office. Every child joining Moulton CEVC receives a complimentary book bag and water bottle.

Hair, Make-up and Nails

We encourage children to take pride in their appearance and celebrate their individuality, including wearing their hair in ways that reflect their culture and identity.

To ensure that the focus remains on learning, extreme hairstyles (such as mohawks), brightly coloured hair or styles requiring excessive styling products are not appropriate for school.

Children should not wear make-up, nail varnish, acrylic nails or gel nails to school.
