School Dinners
Universal Free School Meals
From September 2014, all Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 children will be entitled to a Free School Meal, regardless of parental income. There is no need to fill any forms in; it is a ‘Universal’ entitlement for all children in these year groups. However, do not let this put you off applying for free school meals as part of the pupil premium entitlement. (See below for more information.)
General Information
Your child can have dinner all week, or he/she can have a combination of school dinners and packed lunches – whatever suits you and your child. If you have paid for dinner and your child does not eat it (through absence), you will not be charged for it. The credit will be carried forward. The current price of a school dinner is £2.80
Our menu will show a second choice of dinner – usually a vegetarian option, and a third choice of a jacket potato with various fillings. If you would like your child to have the second or third choice, please sign up for the week online via the school website by Sunday.
We prefer online payments for school dinners and school trips.
Payments can now be made via the Arbor system, under the parent portal. Each parent has their own login details which allow them to see the current balance for their child. This portal also shows any forthcoming trips and the amount needed.
Alternatively, please pay by cash or cheque in advance on Mondays.
Please ensure cash is in a sealed envelope with your child's name, class and amount clearly marked.
If your child is in receipt of the pupil premium, they are entitled to free school meals. Our information leaflet (below) explains more about the pupil premium grant. If your child is entitled to free school meals at any point, they automatically stay eligible for free school meals for the following SIX years. It is definitely worth reading the leaflet before assessing your circumstances. Follow the link to apply for free school meals:
